GRADUATE ART SHOW

My graduate show consisted of six paintings inspired by online art sessions between myself and women who work in, or access, support services around Pontypridd.

During these one-to-one workshops, we created art together where participants shared stories of their favourite places across Pontypridd, as well as their words of wisdom for the world. I painted six wooden plaques with patterns and colours in response to our time together, including the participants’ words across the centre.

The paintings were exhibited in a location that reflects either the favourite place, or the story and words shared by the participants. The exhibition took place across Pontypridd town centre between 7th-9th May 2021 as part of the pART of Pontypridd Art Trail. The art trail is an annual exhibition by the latest graduates from the BA(Hons) Creative and Therapeutic Arts course at the University of South Wales, Treforest Campus, in partnership with local organisations, initiatives, businesses, venues and sites in Pontypridd.
